Changes due to COVID 19
COVID-19 Industry Standard Certified
We have implemented the Government's
COVID-19 reopening guidance so "WE'RE GOOD TO GO" .....
The Views will be open again from Monday 12th April as Government Guidelines.
The health and safety of our guests and staff is our number one priority. We recognise that the situation is potentially unsettling and we would like to reassure you that we have implemented a thorough and extensive sanitising regime to ensure that The Views is Coronavirus Secure.
Cleaning and Sanitising.
Cleaning and Sanitising will be to Government Guidelines which includes sanitising all high contact areas in both the apartments and the access stairs. In addition these we have invested in a Professional Karcher Steam Cleaner which our cleaner Karen will be using throughout the apartments and access stairs to make doubly sure all is COVID 19 secure. Hand sanitiser will also be provided.
Accessing the Apartments
The access stairs comprise of a traditional staircase made up of entrance hall, stairs, three landings and three half landings. The entrance to Scafell View is on the second landing and the entrance to The Penthouse is on the third landing.
I lived in The Penthouse for ten years and then Scafell View for five and from experience it is rare to meet anyone else on the stairs. After all it is only a small block of 6 apartments. However it does on occasion happen. I used to look forward to it as it gave an opportunity to have a chat but unfortunately those days have gone.
Rest assured our Cleaner will sanitise all contact areas before and after cleaning an apartment. Also windows have been left permanently open which means that the staircase is well ventilated.
In terms of passing on the stairs there are several places that the 1 meter + social distancing can be maintained: the entrance hall, the first landing, the third half landing and of-course the landing to your apartment.
If you don't want to pass on the stairs then all you have to do is open the entrance/apartment door and listen. The stairs are quiet and it is quite obvious if someone else is using them and then all you need to do is wait till they've gone. If you can't hear anyone and you're still not sure then give a shout - after all we are all in the same boat. If someone is there they'll shout back. If no one is there then no one will have heard you, and you won't have made a fool of yourself !!
Self-catering holidays are not close contact activities involving strangers. In many ways they are the original self-isolating holiday.
• You cannot self-isolate at The Views for the safety of other guests, our team and our community.
• Do not enter the apartment block if you have Coronavirus symptoms.
• Use common sense hygiene practices while in the apartment.
• If you develop Covid-19 symptoms whilst on staying in the apartment you must notify us immediately. See nhs.uk/coronavirus for further guidance.
• If you are contacted by Test & Trace whilst on holiday you must notify us immediately. See nhs.uk/coronavirus for further guidance.
• If you are well enough to return home by private transportation then please do so and self-isolate at home. Do not use public transport.
• Should you need to stay beyond your vacation time/date then standard rates will apply for the duration of your extended stay.
Refunds on further Lockdowns/Tiers
Rest assured that all monies paid (deposit and/or rental payments) will be refunded in full should further restrictions be imposed by the Government with prevents travel to, or over night stays in, The Views.
Also if Government restrictions force early termination of your stay then all monies paid will be refunded on a pro-rata basis.
Otherwise standard cancelation terms apply. See Terms page
Free Parking Permit for Council Car Parks
There is still the usual allocated parking space for each apartment at the back of the apartment block. Although as detailed in the parking page it is very tight and only suitable for small/medium cars, and not suitable for some people no matter what size car.
There is also still free on-street parking just further up the road.
Normally in the past there has also been the third option of a free parking permit to use in any of the long term council car parks.
The Government Lockdowns has forced the closure of the apartments and obviously this has been financially devastating. The "free" parking permits cost us £1,000 a year and given there are two other parking options they are not strictly a necessity. So whilst Keswick is quite and there is plenty of on-street free parking just further up the road we cannot afford to provide free parking permits.
We thank you for your cooperation and support and wish you a wonderful holiday.
