Parking at The Views
Another advantage of staying at The Views is that each apartment has parking and there are three parking options.
The first option is that each apartment has its own complimentary private, off-street parking space, right beside the apartment and smack in the centre of town. Few accommodation providers in the centre of Keswick can offer such a facility.
Unfortunately the entrance to the private parking area is very narrow. To be exact the entrance is 7 foot 5 inches or 2.26 meters wide. In comparison a new Range Rover (with the mirrors folded out) is 7 foot 3 inches, the new Ford Mondeo is 6 foot 11 inches wide (with the mirrors folded out), and even the new Ford Focus at 6 foot 7 inches (again with the mirrors folded out) has only 5 inches to spare on both sides.
So unless you are used to parking in tight spaces the private parking spaces are really only suitable for small to small/medium cars. For medium to large cars, or if you simply don't fancy squeezing through the entrance, the second parking option is advised.
The second option is that each apartment also comes with a complimentary parking permit which allows you to park in any of long term council car parks for free.
As for unloading your gear you can simply pull over right outside to put your gear in the apartment, pick up your permit and go and park in one of three council car parks all of which are only a few minutes' walk away.
As the apartments are on a street which has double yellows they'll be no parked cars so you'll be able to pull over directly outside the apartment to load and off-load.
Note: the Highway Code states that you cannot park on double yellows but you can stop for a reasonable time to load/unload.
